A compliment I take pride in whenever we have drop ins or intros is people telling us that we have a very clean gym. It shows that we focus on the details and take pride in where we workout. There have been some days where we are busy from 5am thru to 630pm and by the time the last class lets out it looks like the gyms been hit with a tornado. Please help out and do your part, keeping in mind that there are others that use the equipment and facilities after you.
Equipment: AirDynes and Rowers should be used with intensity but the intent should never be to see if you can break the equipment or to see just how far you can push the piece of equipment.
If you don’t know how to adjust the seats or GHDs, Ask For Help and make sure you are using the equipment properly.
Wipe your equipment down after use! If you become a faucet of sweat during your workout be sure to grab a Clorox wipe (by the water cooler) and wipe things down. This includes bars, abmats, Wallballs, and machines. If you bleed, you better be wiping everything down.
Don’t Leave Your Mess for Others to Clean: If your kids trashed the kids room, please do a quick pickup before just grabbing the kids and leaving.
Tape is great for protecting your hands, but please throw it away in a trash can once your workout is over. Don’t just take it off wherever you are and leave it on the floor.
If you spill your drink or pre/post workout powder, clean it up.
A lot of this stuff might seem simple and it is, but unfortunately it is not getting done and is something that has been getting worse. Bad enough that a post has to be written about it. It really is simple: take care of the gym that you enjoy going to. Show a little respect for the equipment and the other members and clean up after yourself.
